Abstract(English):

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing road traffic information via file transfer and obtaining the provided information. The present invention configures at least one file containing traffic information to an object according to MOT (Multimedia Object Transfer) protocol. Information about traffic information service such as service configuration format version and information about each file are configured to MOT directory in accordance with MOT protocol, thereby being transmitted wirelessly to a traffic information receiving terminal.
