The ink jet recording method includes discharging droplets of an aqueous ink composition containing a coloring agent onto a non- or low-ink-absorbent recording medium as a first process and discharging droplets of a clear ink composition containing glycol ether at a content ratio in the range of 3 mass % to 10 mass %, inclusive, and a resin component but containing no coloring agent onto the recording medium as a second process. The first and second processes are performed in a same processing time.
