The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a collector for electrochemical elements, said collector having low internal resistance and enabling quick charging. A method for producing a collector for electrochemical elements according to the present invention comprises a step wherein a coating layer is formed on a metal foil by applying a coating liquid, which contains a divalent or higher-valent organic acid or a derivative thereof, carbon particles, an organic solvent, and at least one substance that is selected from the group consisting of methyl cellulose, ethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl ethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl starch, hydroxypropyl starch, dextrin, pullulan, dextran, guar gum and hydroxypropyl guar gum, onto the metal foil and then removing the organic solvent.
