Coumarin derivatives of the general formula:
wherein R is hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkenyl group, R 1 is hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group or an alkoxyl group, and the OR and R 1 groups each are substituted at any of the 5,6, and 8 positions of the coumarin ring, and the salt thereof. The compounds are useful as antiallergic agent for preventing and treating allergic diseases.
