摘要：
A mechanical face seal (11) which includes a non-rotatable seal ring (21) and a rotatable mating ring (27) biased into rubbing engagement. The non-rotatable seal ring (21) is disposed in a stationary housing (19) and is axially biased toward the rotatable mating ring (27) which is fixed to a rotatable shaft (17). An anti-rotation member (37) is pressed into the housing (19) and is engageable with the non-rotatable seal ring (21) to prevent its rotation while allowing axial movement thereof.
