摘要：
A photographic material is described which comprises a support and:
(a) a light-sensitive silver halide,
(b) a substantially light-insensitive metallic salt whose
solubility is greater than that of the light-sensitive silver halide and whose surface has been made relatively insoluble to said substance by a dissolution retarder, and
(c) a physical development nucleus, present in one or more constituent layers thereon characterised in that a constituent layer contains a compound having the formula: wherein M is an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or an ammonium group; X is a halogen; and n is 1 or 2.
