A header (20) is secured to the circuit board (12), and receives the socket assembly (40) which is connected to the header (20) along a direction parallel to the plane of the circuit board (12). The socket assembly (40) includes a housing (42) and tray (44). The tray (44) which accommodates the electronic component ,(10), is slidably inserted into the housing (42).
