An insect-repelling film or sheet which has a reflective spectrum in the ultraviolet region at a wavelength of less than 0.4 µm, particularly a reflective spectrum peak at a wavelength of less than 0.4 µm, a reflective spectrum with a ratio R A /R B of not less than 1.4 wherein R A is the ultra­violet reflectance and R B is the visible light reflectance at a wavelength of 0.5 µm, and a visible light transmission of not less than 40 %,is useful as a cover for greenhouses and tunnels or for mulching of the ground for crop culture or as a repellent for various insect pests in agriculture, forestry and gardening.
