A heat transfer sheet, comprising a substrate sheet and a dye carrying layer formed on one surface of the substrate sheet, a dye included in the dye carrying layer being represented by the formula (I) shown below.
wherein R₁ to R₅ each represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or phenyl group which may have substituent, X represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl or alkoxy group, -NHCOR or NHSO₂R (R has the same meaning as R₁).
