A dye impermeable, distortion resistant textile identification product comprises a first layer of woven fabric ( 12 ) bonded to a second layer of dye impermeable, distortion resistant thermoplastic material ( 14 ), and a third layer of thermoplastic adhesive material ( 16 ) bonded to the second layer ( 14 ). In an embroidered emblem ( 20 ), stitching ( 22 ) extends through the first and second layers ( 12′ ) and ( 24 ), and a third layer of dye impermeable thermoplastic material ( 14′ ) is bonded to the second layer ( 24 ) overlying and bonded to the stitching ( 22 ). A fourth layer of thermoplastic adhesive material ( 16′ ) is bonded to the third layer ( 14′ ). Methods for making the dye impermeable, distortion resistant textile identification products are also set forth.
