A LED exposure head for use in a recording apparatus, which comprises an assembly in alignment of a plurality of LED modules (44) with LED arrays (49) and circuit boards (53, 54) mounted on a common base (28), each module extending widthwise over a raised section (43) of the base, and overlapping partly with elongate interconnection circuit strips (45, 46) having connection pads (47) on a line (58) for wire bonded connections (63) with the circuit boards (53, 54).
