The present invention discloses a material having a composition:
(PbSc 0.5 Ta 0.5 O₃) 100-x (PbZrO₃) x
wherein x is greater than 0 mole % and less than 20 mole %. The method of producing such ceramic materials comprises producing a mixture of predetermined quantities of (PbSc 0.5 Ta 0.5 O₃) and PbZrO₃) and calcining the mixture to form said composition.
