摘要：
A method for recording, reproducing and erasing information by using a recording film of either crystalline-amorphous phase-transition type or magneto-optic type. By modulation of the laser power between three different levels, it is possible to record, reproduce, erase or directly over-write (erase and re-record in one pass) with the same beam. The method is not limited to a light beam, but may also use another energetic beam, such as an electron beam or ion beam.
