A process for the recovery of bisphenol-A from a bisphenol-A effluent stream utilizes a series of steps to remove, in sequence (1.) isomers of bisphenol-A, (2) acidic contaminants, (3) particulate contaminants, (4) phenol (5) colored by-products and co-products of the bisphenol-A process and (6) tars and colored contaminants.
