The present invention concerns concentrated and/or dry plant extracts with an active substance spectrum identical, or nearly identical, to that of a corresponding liquid extract. Said extracts can be obtained by distilling off the extractant, removing the volatile components by using a non-toxic extractant, and subsequently combining the distillation residue with the extraction phase. The invention in addition concerns a process for producing the concentrated and/or dry plant extracts, and the use of these extracts to produce alcohol free liquid extracts, tablets, capsules and/or granules.
