The proposed conjugated polymers contain repeating units of formula I, in which the symbols and indices have the following meanings: psi is a group IV element other than carbon; D, E, F and G are identical or different, for example -O- or a chemical bond; U represents (for example) a chemical bond; V can have the same meaning as U or can represent -O-; the groups A are identical or different, and are (for example) H or a C1-C20 hydrocarbon group; T represents (for example) -O- or -CA=CA-, A having the meaning indicated above; K, L, M and Q are identical or different and represent hydrocarbon groups which can contain heteroatoms and are characterized by conjugated electron systems; m and n are identical or different integers 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4. The proposed polymers can be used as electroluminescent materials.
