The invention concerns a moving cleaner (1) for textile machines, in particular spinning and weaving machines, the moving cleaner comprising a blower and suction system (3) and a filter system (4). The filter system (4) has a tubular filter cartridge with at least one lateral casing aperture via which the interior of the filter is connected to the blower and suction system (3) by means of a lateral air connection (12). The casing aperture (14) is in the form of an elongate, preferably I-shaped, slot. In order to clean the filter, a filter cleaning device (20) is provided which travels axially with a suction pipe (22a) and a plurality of blower nozzles (23a) over the filter casing (11) and cleans the latter region-by-region with a powerful jet of air.
