Date Feb. 27, 1997A machine for tying together elongated objects with the aid of a wire tie, and particularly for tying or lashing reinforcement rods, electric cables, or the like. The machine includes two jaws (7) which are pivotal in relation to one another and which have wire guiding surfaces. The jaws can be closed around the objects to be tied together, so as to enable the wire (8) to be advanced along the jaw guide surfaces and form the wire into a generally U-shaped wire tie surrounding the objects. The machine also includes a supportive device (4) which is intended to support against the elongated objects, and the jaws (7) are movable towards and away from the objects in relation to the supportive device (4). The jaws (7) can be rotated so as to twist the legs of the wire-tie together while the machine is supported against the elongated objects.
