A polymer composition comprising: (a) a highly syndiotactic vinyl aromatic polymer; and (b) from 0.1 to 5.0 percent, based on the polymer weight of a crystallization modifier selected from the group consisting of alkaline earth metal bis[monoethyl(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)phosphonate] salts has improved crystal formation properties.
