The invention relates to a braking device for vehicles which has a wheel brake (10) on each vehicle wheel, a braking structure (11) connected to the vehicle wheel so as to rotate therewith, a braking actuator (12) engaging on the braking structure (11) for the purpose of braking, and a braking carrier (13) fastened to the chassis (14) and holding the brake actuator (12). Said device also has a sensor (15), arranged on the braking carrier (13), for detecting the wheel brake moment. For general use of the sensor (15) in different embodiments of the wheel brake and for the slightest changes to the chassis, the sensor (15) is in the form of a so-called pillow block force transducer which is adapted in such a manner that it forms at least one fastening element between the braking carrier (13) and the chassis (14).
