The invention relates to a method and device for producing brush seals with bent bristles having the following steps: preparing at least one ring-shaped brush seal with radially running bristles having such a length that, when the bristles are inclined with respect to the radii of the ring-shaped brush seal, at least the desired brush diameter is essentially obtained; positioning at least one brush seal and at least one heatable glowing wall of a heating device relatively to each other, so that the free bristle ends on the bent bristles rest on the glowing wall and rotating simultaneously or subsequently the at least one brush seal and at least the glowing wall relatively against each other until the bristles facing the radius of the brush seal are inclined in a predetermined angle on its annular plane; heating the glowing wall to a predetermined temperature; preserving the temperature in the heated glowing wall for a predetermined period; removing the at least one brush seal from the heating device. The invention also provides a device for producing brush seals with bent bristles, that can carry out the above-mentioned method.
