The description relates to a process for making connections and accounting for them in telecommunication systems for given called numbers selectable individually by the subscriber, in which the subscriber can inform the telecommunication system operator of a limited number of called numbers to which a special rate applies, where the subscriber him/herself records an individually selected called number in a databank in an internal service control point (SCP) by dialling an internal service indicator, in the databank an abbreviated call number is allocated to the called number which the subscriber can then dial as often as desired, where, when the abbreviated call number is dialled, the relevant called number is found in the databank and a connection to said called number is made, and special rates are applied to all calls made via the abbreviated call number.
