A vehicle wheel has a rim (10) and a disc (22) joined thereto. The rim has a groove (25) consisting of a frusto-conical surface (27) and a cylindrical surface (26) to receive mating portions (29, 28) formed on the outer periphery of the disc. The assembly is welded at (33).
