摘要：
The present invention relates to an optical recording and/or reproducing apparatus using an optical recording medium having a light-transmitting cover layer (17, 18) capable of transmitting a light beam and a recording layer (16) provided below a light incident surface of the light-transmitting cover layer (17, 18), said apparatus comprising: a light source (1) for generating a light beam, and an objective lens (2) for converging the light beam radiated from said light source on the recording layer (16) through the light-transmitting cover layer. The ratio of a minimum diameter (2ω 0 ) of the convergent light beam when the light beam is converged by said objective lens and the wavelength λ of the light beam generated from said light source is represented by equation below; 2ω 0 /λ = 0.82/NA wherein NA is the numerical aperture of said objective lens falling within a range of 0.55 to 0.70.
