The invention concerns a screw (1) for the mutual securing of two components (2 and 3), a shank (4) with a thread (6), a non-threaded shank section (7) and a screw head (5) being provided. The end region (8) of the thread (6) facing the non-threaded shank portion (7) terminates with a constant thread pitch (S), the terminating end region (8) of the thread (6) forming a type of frustoconical envelope surface (10) as the screw (1) rotates. When the screw (1) is inserted and, if it is stripped, the end region (8) of the thread (6) acts like a milling cutter and produces a frustoconical opening (13) in the component (3). The thread turns can then be supported on the wall of this opening (13) in the terminating end region (8), such that, in spite of the screw (1) being stripped, the components (2 and 3) can still be pressed against each other.
