The invention concerns a device for measuring on a rotating shaft (1) the torque of a steering column located in the plane of said shaft cross section (A) and a detector which delivers a signal proportional to the shaft (1) torsional moment resulting from the relative angular offset of the field generator with respect to the detector. The invention is characterised in that a first electronic circuit (14) within the steering column is fixed to a support (17) concentrating the magnetic field and moves in front of the generator of said field (12) jointly with mechanical angular return means (13) of the rotating shaft (1) two sections, and bearing measuring sensors (15) delivering signals to a second electronic circuit (20) processing said signals, outside the steering column for delivering signals actuating receiving devices via a transfer box (28).
