The invention relates to a method and device for sewage clarification by means of a fine division and vaporization of sewage (1) which is to be clarified in a carrier gas stream (13). This is achieved by utilizing the heat from the clarified and condensed outflowing carrier gas-water vapor mixture for heating said mixture and by removing the concentrate (30, 34) resulting from superheated water vapor. According to the invention, the concentrate is then dried in a vaporizer (W2c) with vapor compression (K3), whereby the vapor condensation (60) is fed back to the superheated carrier gas-vapor mixture via V6 or V5 and is mixed with said mixture, in order to ensure an easy to maintain and energetically optimal operation during high organic and inorganic sewage loads.
