An improved railroad trackwork spring wing frog (10) is provided with a rail-closer (70) having a single compression spring (72) whose reaction forces are applied to the frog spring wing rail (50) through movable linkages (78, 80) that are each connected to the spring wing rail (50) at different spaced-apart position and that each abut the single compression spring (72).
