The capacitor of this invention includes a pair of electrodes opposing each other and made from a conductive material having a specific surface area of 960 m 2 /g or more; and a liquid dielectric filled between the pair of electrodes and having conductivity of 1 x 10 -7 Scm -1 or less. The capacitor of this invention has a high energy density.
