A method and apparatus for forming a lining on the interior faces (11) of a vessel (9) is disclosed. The method and apparatus involve installing a granular composition (4) into a gap (10) formed between the internal faces (11) of the vessel (9) and a mandrel (7) in a single mass. Also disclosed is a continuous lining formed using the method and apparatus of the invention.
