The present invention makes it an object to increase an attracting rate of flying insects by enlarging diffusion area of light radiated out of a case from a lamp for attracting flying insects as well as to make the flying insects caught inside the case not to be seen through openings from below.
A case (2) of a device for catching flying insects (1) is formed in a polygonal shape more than a pentagon in a cross section view thereof including at least vertical portions (11), an upper slant portion (13) and a lower slant portion (14), openings (15) through which the flying insects invade are provided in the vertical portions (11), the upper and lower slant portions (13, 14), and a plurality of plates (17) are provided in the openings (15) in the lower slant portions (14), so that the flying insects caught by a sheet for catching insects (5) located inside the case (2) may not be recognized from below.
