The invention relates to a method and a device for separating solids consisting of organic and inorganic material from a fluid mixed with solids and for separating inorganic material from a mixture of organic and inorganic material. At least two round containers disposed one on top of the other and having different shape and size are provided, wherein a first top container has a tangential inlet for the fluid mixed with solids, an overflow and an discharge in addition to a second container discharging into a solids conveyer.
