Disclosed is a power component serving to reliably switch inductive loads and having (50) a current detection element for detecting the current flowing through the inductive load. The component comprises a protection element (48) which is connected to the source terminals of the sensing element (41) and the regulating member (42). The protection element serves to protect against parasitic effects between the sensing element and the regulating member.
