A device for the wireless remote control of an arc welding installation comprises a casing (7) incorporating a means for the emission of at least one command and/or data allowing the emitting of at least one command and/or data in the form of a radio wave having a frequency between 300 MHz and 1.2 GHz, preferably between 380 MHz and 500 MHz. A INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method of remote control of an electric arc welding installation using this device.
