A location reporting satellite paging communication system comprising space satellites (2), ground stations (4), and call receivers (8) adapted to resolve a global position from signals transmitted from satellites (2) and earth based communication means (4). The call receiver (8) or callee in possession of the call receiver updates the paging network with a global position as requested by the paging network (6). A caller paging a subscriber or callee (8) in possession of the call receiver may request the global location of the callee. The paging network (6) could divulge or block such information from a caller depending on the requirements of the subscriber.
