The invention relates to a halogen filament lamp for motor vehicle headlamps with an electrical consumption of between 50 watts and 100 watts and has at least one filament, whereby, according to the invention, the at least one filament (5) is in the form of a simple helix, the size and/or geometry of which is determined by an operating voltage of at least 20 volts, with the length of single helix limited to a range from 4.0 mm to 6.5 mm.
