A method and unit (11) for transferring blanks (2) on a packing machine (1), whereby stacks (5) of blanks are transferred from a platform (16), on which the blanks (2) are arranged in stacks (5), to a store (10) wherein the blanks (2) are packed successively and seamlessly along a path (P1) for supply to a pickup station (S1) of the packing machine (1); transfer of the stacks (5) from the platform (16) to the store (10) including forming, at a loading station (S3) and by means of two gripping devices (14, 15) for gripping the stacks (5), a group (13) of blanks defined by stacks (5) superimposed and aligned in a container (12), feeding the container (12) and the group (13) along a path (P2) to an unloading station (S2) at the store (10), and transferring the group (13) of blanks from the container (12) to the store (10).
