The invention concerns a novel avian pneumovirus called C990427, registered with the CNCM under access number I-2353 and characterised in that it infects ducks. The invention, therefore, concerns immunogenic preparations and live and inactivated vaccines against the avian pneumovirus comprising an antigen of said novel strain, a carrier or excipient acceptable in veterinary medicine, and optionally an adjuvant. The invention also concerns the diagnosis of infection by said virus.
