Around the periphery of a rotary disc (10) which is manually turnable and on which coins (11) are placed, there is formed a generally arcuate coin conveying passage (23) which has a coin intake port (24). In this coil conveying passage, there are formed a plurality of sorting holes for sorting and dropping coins sequentially in increasing order of diameter from the upstream to the downstream. There is also provided a conveyor belt (30) which has an annular shape when viewed from above and which is turned in synchronism with the rotary disc (10) by intermediate gears (40), (41) and (42) so as to press and convey the coins (11). By coin sorting means (31) arranged between the intake port (24) and the sorting hole on the most upstream side for counting the coins passing by and measuring the diameters of the coins, a preset count is detected in a batch processing mode. After the coins (11) travel a distance calculated by a photo-interrupter (88), the intermediate gear (41) is disengaged by an electromagnetic solenoid (83) to stop the conveyor belt (30) temporarily. As a result, the batch processing of the coins can be executed by the compact construction.
