The invention concerns an electric machine comprising a collector (60), a brush-holder assembly, including a cover (26) and a set of electrical connection members (28, 20, 32, 34) provided with guide cages (36, 38, 40, 42) adapted to receive a respective brush (44), wherein is provided a member (64) limiting the radial displacement of the brush in the absence of the collector, the dimensions of the limiting member (64) being adapted to provide a tight mounting of said member on the cover (26). The invention is useful for mounting a brush-holder for a motor vehicle starter.
