An over-centre latch (58) comprising a base plate (60) defining a plane of attachment (P), a pivotally mounted lever (82), and a claw (92) pivotally mounted to the lever (82), in use the claw (92) operably engaging a catch plate (72) in order to close the latch, wherein a safety catch (100), comprising a catch member (102) pivotably moveable to an engaged position about an axis (104) that is generally orthogonal to the plane of attachment when the latch (58) is closed, operably prevents opening of the latch (58) when the catch member (102) is in the engaged position.
