A compressible guaifenesin composition containing guaifenesin and a binder and being in the form of particles and wherein by sieve analysis, based on the total weight of the composition, less than about 30 percent by weight of the particles exhibit a particle size of greater than about 425 micrometers and greater than about 80 percent by weight of the particles exhibit a particle size of greater than about 45 micrometers, provides improved flow properties as well improved robustness and flexibility with regard to the processing conditions used to produce dosage forms from such compositions.
