摘要：
An electrically operated power steering device that, by reliably avoiding the driving of an electric motor in the reverse rotation state, prevents demagnetization of the electric motor and reliably provides a desired steering support force. This device comprises a motor reverse rotation detecting means for detecting whether the electric motor is reversing or not, and a motor start control means for starting the electric motor on condition that when conditions for starting the electric motor are met, the electric motor is not reversing.
