A cover plate for use with a mobile device having a keyboard including a plurality of keyboard keys, the cover plate providing telephone keypad functionality to the mobile device. The cover plate comprises a keypad frame movable into a registered position over said keyboard; and a plurality of dial keys (110) depressably mounted on the keypad frame. At least one dial key of the plurality of dial keys overlies at least two keyboard keys, the at least one dial key having means (112) extending therefrom towards only one of said at least two keyboard key for actuating only said one of the at least two keyboard keys.
