The invention concerns a method, a device and a machine for pure bending test, optionally alternating. Two mutually identical items from a common specimen (1) are subjected to antagonist bending loads optionally alternating, while maintaining a mutual symmetry relative to a point (22), under the action of two controlled motor assemblies (21) freely mobile relative to each other. The parasitic loads induced in the two items of the specimen (1) during the test are reduced to a minimum, and the behaviour of the specimen (1) in pure bending can be studied with enhanced accuracy.
