Luminescent polymers characterized by comprising repeating units represented by the general formula (1); and light-emitting devices made by using the same: (1) wherein Ar is a group represented by one of the general formulae (2) to (5); B is -Y-Ar , -Y-R, or hydrogen; Y is a single bond or -O-; Ar is a group represented by the general formula (6); R is alkyl or alkenyl; nB's may be the same or different from each other; when B's in a group represented by one of the general formulae (2) to (5) are each hydrogen, at least one of B's in the general formula (1) is -Y-Ar or -Y-R, while when B's bonded to the benzene nucleus in the general formula (1) are each hydrogen, at least one of B's in a group represented by one of the general formulae (2) to (5) is -Y-Ar or -Y-R; and n is an integer of 1 to 4.
