Disclosed is a method for triggering an electric motor by means of a pulse width modulation signal that has a specific triggering frequency and a specific pulse duty factor. The electric motor is triggered via a supply voltage line according to the pulse duty factor. At least one electrical component is provided on the supply voltage line for low-pass filtering the voltage fluctuations caused by the pulse width modulation signal. The inventive method is characterized by the fact that the triggering frequency of the pulse width modulation signal is modified according to the pulse duty factor.
