The invention relates to a method for programming an industrial robot by means of a simulation program. According to said method, control commands are entered using a manual programming device and said commands are displayed in visual form on a screen as displacement and/or processing operations of the robot, based on the data of the latter. An object to be manipulated is likewise represented on the screen and a three-dimensional image of the robot and the object is reproduced.
