A concrete column (10), including at least one longitudinally extending steel reinforcement bar (22) and a void (24,26) extending inwardly from the column side wall. The void (24,26) exposes a section (34,37) of at least one steel reinforcement bar (22) for enabling connection of a separate structure to the column (10). The void (24,26) also defines a support surface (36,38) for supporting the separate structure.
