The present invention is directed to crystallized polyethylene terephthalate, PET, which contains silicon in a bounded and integrated into the molecular structure of PET form. The crystallized form preferably has been ob-' tained by a temperature treatment of amorphous PET, which contains silicon in a bounded and integrated into the molecular structure of PET form. There is also described a process for the preparation of crystallized polyethylene terephthalate, PET, which contains silicon in a bounded and integrated into the molecular structure of PET form.
